Kagiso Striders Athletics Club (KSAC) was formed in 1990 in the location of Kagiso in West Rand. The club was registered officially with Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) and with Athletics South Africa (ASA) in 1991, when it started participating in track and field events.

In its first year as a registered affiliate of CGA the club obtained second position in the Provincial competition; which comes to show the potential and talent that the club has. Ever since that second position obtained on its first competition, the club has never failed to qualify in CGA’s competitions to represent the province and CGA in the South African Championships of Track and Field and Cross Country events every year.

The club has been trusted since 1999, 8 years after its registration and affiliation to CGA, to host 1 of its annual Provincial Cross Country event to date. The event has gone from strength to strength and is of high quality as it boasts the participation of the country’s top athletes. The club has also hosted an annual community race sponsored by Old Mutual from 2001 until it was stopped by the sponsor.

In finding talent we work with schools in our locality and those who work with us will bare witness to the fact that they qualify and obtain medals in the provincial and national schools’ championships.

Our intensions are to champion the healthy and active lifestyle in our communities and promote sports participation. We want to help aspiring young athletes  to compete at major athletics stages such as the Olympics, Common Wealth Games, All Africa Games, SADAC games, COSSASA championships, Zones 6 games and the likes. We also want to promote the participation of our communities in the nation building events such as the Soweto Marathon, Comrade Marathon and Two oceans Marathon, through intensive campaigning and thoroughly preparation.
